PREVIOUSLY WRITTEN SCRIPTZ (March 24, 2008)
What’s Happening Sis,
Greetings from LYLAS 4 Life Ministries, “A modern day ministry, delivering the word of God through technology to unite, empower, and uplift sistahs in Christ.” In addition to your weekly TextScriptz, I send you God’s love, peace, and blessings. I pray that God continues to send Godly people into your life who will pray for you, bless you, and love you all in the name of Jesus.
The other day I was thinking about teenage love and how many teenagers truly believe that they know what it means to be in love, yet they cannot define love. I am by no means excluding myself from this equation. In fact, I can remember two times in particular as a teenager where I thought that I could not exist without these people in my life. How can I breathe without them I would think to myself? Will there ever be anyone to take their place I would ponder? Can I go on in this world without them by my side I would dwell on in the late night hours? The funny thing is, when I let go of those dysfunctional thoughts regarding what I later realized were dysfunctional relationships, I was still able to survive and I’m here now to write about it!
As I thought about the teenage love thang, I started thinking about how there are even some adults who have carried the teenage ideology of love over
with them into adulthood. Then my wondering mind went a step further and I started to envision what it would be like if no one was able to date until they knew the love of God. Imagine with me for a moment Sistah, a world filled with young and old couples who all put God first in their lives individually and then as a couple. What would the world be like if that were the case?
Unfortunately, not knowing God’s love has caused me and so many others to seek
love in all the wrong places, silently searching for completion in someone who was not God. As I mentioned earlier, not knowing the love of God can cause one to start contemplating an empty state of being without that one in which the affectionate feelings rest. However, as we grow in the love of God his love becomes perfected and matured in us and we come to understand what love is really all about. “And so we know and rely
on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them” (1 John 4:16).
Sistah, one thing for sure is that God wants us to love one another, but how can we truly know love and give love when we do not know the definition of love, which is GOD! Again, I say what if no one could date until they first knew the love of God?

P.S.
GOT GOD? If you do not know God on a personal level this prayer can start your
walk with him today…….
God, I am a sinner and I know I do not deserve your grace or mercy. Still, I trust you and I believe that you sent your son to earth and that he died and rose again for my sins. I thank you Lord for the personal gift of salvation.
Amen
