My Dearest Sistah,
Greetings from LYLAS 4 Life Ministries, “A modern day ministry, delivering the word of God through technology to unite, empower, and uplift sistahs in Christ.” In addition to your weekly TextScriptz, I send you God’s love, peace, and blessings.
My working environment is stressful by nature; I am surrounded by youth who are often irrational in their thinking and impulsive in their behaviors. Attempting to maintain peace between the boys is a job in itself. My role requires me to wear multiple hats, one of which is a construction hat. I literally feel like I am carrying three houses on my shoulders each shift that I lead. The most challenging
part of my job is working in a flawed system, with flawed people who expect perfection from other flawed people like myself. Without prayer, stress would overtake me daily!
I must admit that I have allowed my working environment to literally take me out of my zone. I am often get frustrated, stressed out, overwhelmed, and rarely am I walking in peace. Ironically, my best days are when I get to sit down and interact with my boys. Those moments remind me of my purpose and bring back the passion I have for my job. Unfortunately, the day to day job functions and the
unrealistic expectations set by humans can make me forget the reason that GOD placed me in this position.
After a conversation last week, I reminded myself that I will NOT work to prove anything to anyone other than my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I work for Jesus and with HIM I can do all things! Here’s the reality, there is a purpose for the placement despite the tribulations we endure while working with man. As long as we remember who our ultimate boss is and work diligently to please him, then our job is well done.
Sistah, as Ambassadors for Christ, we have a cross to carry daily. It can be as heavy as three houses, but God gives us strength to fulfill our calling. Although, people within our workplace can take our hard work for granted “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them” (Hebrews 6:10). No matter what hat you wear at work, always remember you work for Jesus!
Loving You Like A Sistah,
Keisha “Kitten” Isaacs

P.S.
GOT GOD? If you do not know God on a personal level this prayer can
start your walk with him today…….
God, I am a sinner and I know I do not deserve your grace or mercy. Still, I trust you and I believe that you sent your son to earth and that he died and rose again for my sins. I thank you Lord for the personal gift of salvation. Amen.
