Keisha Isaacs made an observation and wrote a beautiful analysis of what frequently occurs after the death of a loved one. After her stepfather died she was told to ‘be strong’ for her mother. To ‘be strong’ means not to show your emotions, cry out loud, and shed only a few tears. In reality, feeling sad and crying does not show that you are weak.
